How Can high Fever Along With Headache In A Child Be Treated?

Hello! My six year old daughter has had a high fever (105.5 the first day, 103 the next, both going down as the day progresses)over the last two days. She has complained of a headache and has just developed a few red spots (cheek, stomach, possibly her back: she s currently napping). She has been vaccinated for varicella, but I know that doesn t mean that she couldn t get chicken pox. Do you think that could be what she is fighting?

Hi,

Your daughter is fighting skin manifestations of underlying viral infection which can be chicken pox or else.

A headache is due to viremia.

Primary care with hydration, antibiotic, analgesic, antiviral medicines will give the best recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
